How do I rename all of the files in several folders?

By default, Name Munger renames only the files that you drag onto the Name Munger icon or into its window, but it's easy to have it rename the files inside all the folders you select as well. Simply click the folder select pop-up menu (located just above the list of items to be renamed) and choose either
Rename items, folders and folder contents or Rename items and contents but not folders.

What's the difference between Rename items, folders and folder contents and Rename items and contents but not folders?

Both options cause Name Munger to traverse the folder hierarchy. There are times when you want the renaming operation applied to all the items you dragged onto Name Munger, such as when a folder full of photos from your digital camera have names like 100_109584.jpg and the folder they reside in has a similarly useful name. The first folder option,
Rename items, folders and folder contents will rename all the files you selected plus all the folders they reside in.

At other times, you may have a set of folders with appropriate names, yet you want to correct the names of the files they contain. In this case,
Rename items and contents but not folders will change the file names without affecting the folders.

Why can't I enter my registration information?

The OK button in the registration dialog box will only highlight when you have correctly entered your user name and registration key. Your user name and registration key were e-mailed to you when you purchased your license.

It is important to enter your registration information exactly as it appears in your registration e-mail. The user name and registration key are case-sensitive, so they must be capitalized in the same way shown in the e-mail.

Many Name Munger users find it is easiest to copy the name and key from the e-mail and paste them into the registration window.
